A big city team like the Cubbies or Whte Sox are rumored to be in the Arod mix. I hear Kenny Williams is interested. Lou Pinella has a good relationship w/ Alex too. A Soriano/ Arod team up of guys who were once traded for each other could be in order... that would be quite a 1-2 punch!
I am a Twins fan, so I know my team will never break the bank for him, but, of course I would love to see him in our new stadium in 2010... i am not under any dillusions though.
When his career is over, despite the MVP award, I thinkthe Yankees years will be seen as a dissappointment as oppossed to the rest of his career... unless they win the title this year, that could change everything.
BTW, the Red Sox could really deal a blow to their rivals by replacing aging Lowell w/ Arod next year!!

BREWcrew is right in a sense, Arte Moreno would love spend the money for a big bat like A-Rod, but you're forgetting one thing.
The Angels are DEEEEEEP in their minor league system. They are in the process of converting Brandon Wood (one of the best minor league prospects) into a third baseman, simply because there isn't room at his true short stop position. They are not going to spend the time on a talent and a big bat like Brandon Wood's (he is a known power hitter) to not have a roster spot for him in 08 cause of A-rod. Wood also can't move back to his short stop position because after Cabrera is gone they've got 2 of the top 3 short stop prospects in the minor leagues waiting for the spot.
I would envision A-Rod going to the Cubs or the Red Sox. I'm not sure he could do with the pressure of Boston though. Somewhere like Atlanta or Arizona would be great for him.

I personally don't like A-Rod, I think he's all about the money but the guy can flat out play. So I guess I'd like him with my team.
Rumors out as of today have him going to the Giants.
1) They'll have the money for him.
2) They have a track record of working with Boras.
3) They have a roster spot for him at either 3rd or SS.
4) They made a serious effort to trade for him last year and were the front runner in that effort until ARod said he'd nix any trade.
5) ARod has already named the Giants as one of the teams he'd like to play for before he said he wanted to retire as a Yankee (which is just positioning for when an extension doesn't happen).

A-Rod will be one of the all time greats. He'll end up well over 600 homers. I think he'll be a Red Sock in 2008. They are the only team, other than the Mets, with the bucks to pay him. He's a solid player, even when he has a "sub par" season.

My guess is that Arte Moreno (a notoriously agressive owner) will bring Rodriguez to Los Angeles to play 3B for the Angels. They've got a hole there and A-Rod would seem to fill it nicely.
Not to mention the laid back nature of SoCal and its fan-base, it would seem to be a perfect little haven for A-Rod to be able to relax.
Also - He's a bit Hollywood anyways and would probably enjoy the limelight there, considering it is so fickle and not as abrasive as NY, BOS, or CHC.

I agree with mark w, Lou loved A-Rod like a son in Seattle. He might just be with the Cubs in 08.
