Since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothing can be predicted for sure at this stage. Since the tournament is still wide open, it is all the more difficult to predict the winners at this stage. Whichever team plays to their potential consistently fromm the super 8 onwards will be the ultimate winners.

Australia and South Africa aren't in my top 3 favorite team right now but if I were to pick one of them in the final against the other I would pick South Africa. Aussies are too good yet so boring (like another person said). They've won enough its about time some other non traditional team gets a chance. This is what I liked about one day cricket, everything's unpredictable (well sometimes). That's why its so exciting to watch (minus the long hours).

On most recent performance one would expect Australia will regain its number one postion in world rankings by the end of the world cup.
