Opinions about Greek history

I can see how it can be seen as american propaganda, considering how Persia is the old name for Iran, and the film is made by Hollywood. And I don't know how accurate the story is either.
However, the ancient persians of that time were a different creed altogether than present day persians/Iranians. It was a time before Islam, Christianity, Judaism and everything - so a whole different time in the world. So we have to remember that aspect, otherwise we can get all worked up about it, by judging the story by present day divisions, and taking things out of context.
It was a good film though, I really enjoyed it for what it was. It was a bit flat in places but I did like the King leonidas who I felt held the film together.

I thought 300 was an awesome movie. I think the Spartans were also awesome because they figured out a way to have a strictly military society. Plus what they did at the Battle of Thermopylae, with Thespian help, on the last day. Greek history is my favorite part of history. I guess because of the Spartans, democracy, mythology, their philosophy

I don't understand why there is so much foss about this movie?
It is ancient history, Persians attacked and lost, so what?
I saw the movie, I think it could be done much better than it is. I don't see anything racist in it, how some accuse, and I would really appreciate if somebody can explain what I missed while I was watching it.

Entertaining graphic novel made into a movie, if i wanted historical accuracy, i would've watched the History Channel....
