3/4 and 1/2 are two fractions. To perform any mathematical operation between two or more fractions, u need to make the denominators of all fractions as equal. This can be done by multiplying them with common factors. In ur example, The denominators can e equalized by multiplying the fraction 1/2 by 2.
I.e 1*2/2*2=2/4
Now the two fractions that u have are 3/4 and 2/4.
U can now carry out ur subtraction.
i.e 3/4-2/4=1/4
so the answer is 1/4.
Hope u got the steps..if u dint..feel free to mail me..:)

3/4 - 1/2 = 3/4 - 2/4 = 1/4
simply make the denominators (bottom numbers) equal and then do the math. To make 1/2 into quarters, multiply both by 2 to get 2/4.

You first have to find a basic denominator. so 1/2 becomes 2/4 so the base of 3/4 is the same as 2/4. then its basic math. 3/4-2/4 = 1/4. if the bottom number is the same, then you just subtract(or whatever symbol you have) and you get the answer.

First convert the 1/2 into 1/4's-:
1/2 = 2/4 (I have just multiplied both top and bottom by 2)
Now you have-:
3/4 - 2/4 = 1/4 (which is your answer)

you have to convert the equation to the same denominator..
1 = 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 +1/4 or 4/4
so
3/4 = 1/4 + 1/4 + 1/4
and
1/2 = 1/4 + 1/4 or 2/4
so
3/4 - 2/4 = 1/4
