By cool I mean trendy, not cold. How would you define the words meaning? Is it different for each individual?

Cool would be different for every person. For me, someone conversant in art, literature and the sciences would be ultra-cool. For others; we're geeks.

For some, cool is someone who expects to be top dog and is surrounded by sycophants.

Cool really depends on your socio-ethnic upbringing. The values you had passed onto you would determine what you look for in a person and anyone exhibiting those traits would be attractive and cool.

The ultimate attribute for coolness is youth which is why a lot of people try to cling onto their youth. Becoming old is synonymous with being old-fashioned - which is the opposite of 'cool'.
