After all the percentage of black people's ancesters who directly profited from slavery is much higher than the percentage of white people's ancesters who directly profited from slavery.
Also, black people were enslaving their own people and other's for thousands of years before white people got involved in the trianular trade and black people are still doing it today.
Contrary to popular belief and what is taught in colleges and universities the average black person is far more likly than the average white person to have ancesters who actually indulged in the taking, abusing and buying and selling of slaves.
I say this this because in London, Bristol and Liverpool the three main UK locations where slavery was practised only a small percentage of white people were directly involved in the slave trade. In Africa at that time however, a very large percentage of black people were involved in the slave trade and many of them still are today.
Will you black people now apologise?

All this nonsense about class action suites and monetary repratition to the living members of former slaves is bull.
The masses should get off their black backsides, get an education and stop moaning about how their ancestors were enslaved and treated.
The white liberals, who march and protest in sympathy for these folk should wake up and get a life.
The average black, who is a direct decendant of slaves, should be thankfull that they do not live in some 3rd world country, possibly starving and being ruled by a despot.

Really apologizing now is stupid, it happened a real long time ago. I'm an american with german decent, should i apologize for the haulocaust? no because I didn't do it, and should people in germany apologize? no because most of the people that did do it are old and died or got punished for it. No one should apologize for slavery, unless they are doing it now in Africa, but talking about in the US or UK, but think of this way slavery overall made america greater, without slavery we wouldn't have so many black people to make the country so diverse. But I think its time to move on, the black peoples ancestors suffered threw slavery for them to be in this great country today, and i think living in the UK and US right now is a whole lot better then living in Africa, so maybe black people should thank whites?

Very good point. Asking today's leaders to apologise for the slave trade 200 years or more ago is akin to asking the directors of Burberry to apolgise for Chavs.

You can't state that one group is at fault. It was and is still a global problem with many different countries to blame. Nobody should apologise because they are the same colour as somebody hundreds of years who did something wrong. You are just as much related to them and in some cases more so.

Your question made me think ....... but I suggest that MANKIND ought to apologise ... white, black, coloured ..... all of them .... for simply beholding others as unworthy enough to induct into slavery. I do not believe that you should apologise for something you did not do or were reasonable for.
It is not our fault that our white forefathers were so narrow minded bullies in the old days. :-(
I strongly believe that we all are equal regardless of race, religion, sex and colour.
