Okay, the name Towanda comes from Native American heritage, meaning literally, burial ground. It's lineage I beleive is from the Pennsylvania area, but I am not certain of the tribes name, or language... perhaps Seneca. More recently, there was a movie, and it's usage was twisted into women's empowerment, somehow suggesting there was a mythical person or Goddess... (you have to see the movie, in which they used the name; "Fried Green Tomatoes" I saw a small part of it, and lost interest... or I was distracted... I really don't remember how (it didn't take much, eh?)
