this goes to phil c who seems to be stuck in the box -low taxes you have one of the most conservative presidents in history who is spending more than any pres before him and no one can acct for billions of dollars in Iraq which has disappeared we will pay for it later - and there goes the word efficiency from your argument -strong national defense is at the cost of education and other domestic programs which would make this country even more economically powerful for tears to come - I find our "defense " rather "offensive" dont you ? we are an intl army flying to every corner of the earth - why not just keep to within our borders wouldnt that be more small and efficient govt - Traditional family values -not with both parents having to work just to make ends meet in this country buddy - I agree with you on prolife but the way you conservatives go around screaming murderers to people doesnt help - try giving viable solutions instead of stoning them to death w/ words mr judeo christian

Has no-one noticed how George W. Bush and the current leaders have re-defined "conservative"? What he stands for is nearly opposite of what conservative meant to Barry Goldwater or even Ronald Reagan.
When so-called "conservatives" advocate prescription drug plans, nationalized education, and nation-building in Iraq and elsewhere, is it any wonder that no one knows what a conservative is anymore? No real conservative would support this neo-con agenda.

The premise of your statement that follows your question demonstrates your abject ignorance!
Allow me to educate you:
Modern day conservatives stand for lower taxation, smaller and more efficient government, pro-life, strong national defense, higher educational and moral standards, traditonal family values, and preserving the Judeo-Christian standards that made the United States the richest, freeest, most powerful nation in world history.
