Me and 3 of my friends were out one night, and we acually became blood brothers to show how much we meant to each other. Kinda lame... yeah whatever. But then we did something really stupid and went over to the neighbors and busted out a couple windows in this car which we thought was junk and abandoned and one of my buddys (luke) busted out the first window and we followed. So his parents came and got us because they heard what was going on, and snagged us from the scene quick. So the parents confronted us about it and asked us what happpen, and we were all truthful except for my friend luke, which happens to be my friend for 6 years and pushed the blame all on us. (btw it was his parents) We are mad that he wasnt truthful and also hurt because he pushed the blame on us... and im baffled and very fustrated and I'm really confused on how I should aprouch this situation. If you have been through friends not being honest, how did you deal with it?

He is obviously a chicken hearted person. Be show some consideration for him. May be he learned a lesson as to how to tackle a situation like this. Try and teach him the value of being courageous and truthful. He will retrace his steps. We learn our lessons in life, by faltering and correcting. Don't we?

The real problem here is you think your chief problem is that your friend lied about his involvement.
Your problem is that you have no respect for other people's property.
Get a job and pay for it, even if you are the only one paying. Tell luke to suck a dick. He's no blood brother to you nor anyone else. He caved, and sold you all out.
If you guys keep acting up, he'll do the same to the police, when it is real jail time, not just a smashed window.
You want blood brothers who got your back? Join the military. There it is.
Good luck.

well, the best thing is to put yourself in his shoes... would you have reacted differently or would you have done the same thing?
maybe what you can do is to talk to him about it, calmly... ask him why he didn't take equal blame as he should have done... and no shouting or anything like that...
it may be hard to forgive him, given that you've been friends for so long and been through a lot, but sometimes people just get scared of taking the blame for something they did and facing the consequences... just try to understand why he did it... i guess that's the way to deal with this...

This has happened to me also and its a good learning example of someone whos weak willed. He would turn his best friend in to save himself even if it had been the police and "not" his parents. You basically have to learn from your life experiences what limitations your friends have in these ways and either except them for what they are or move on. Wait until you have one try to help you out with a girlfriend problem and the next thing you know hes fooling around with her, I know thats not your question but just another example of what life will bring you. Its great to have friends but basically you have only yourslef to trust, finding a friend who would actually take the theoretical bullet for you is very rare. Finding a friend who would turn in his "blood Brother" to save his own butt is common, especially in the world of mischief..

Consider the entire situation. If his parents would go totally ballistic or become abusive, then he acted out of fear. If his parents would handle it alright, then he is a coward.
Talk to him and feel him out....let him tell you why he did not own up....then decide if his friendship is true or not.
