Our 2 year old is a handful and full of energy. I recently had to relocate from the Bay Area to Phoenix for work. I already moved all our belongings and have established our new home in Phoenix. She and the baby are staying with my mother.Yet, because of my work I probably won't be there for the birth and I miss them both dearly. We are considering to have her brother drive them ,with frequent stops of course , to Phoenix on April 4th.Its a 10-11 hour drive which includes 4-5 hours in the desert. Is it safe? I need ideas?Help?

Have your better half talk to her OB about it. If the Ob says its safe then go for it. Plus I think it should be safe anyway, unless she has started to have contractions or other syptoms of labor.

Hey If I can be any help here in Phoenix, let me know.

I was not pregnant and traveled with a bounch of under 30 young and energetic friends, no kids, from SF to Phoenix, and it was very tiering and long, that we ended up stoping in LA for a day on our way back, even though we stayed in SF for 4 whole days and had lots of fun. I think you should have her fly over with the little 2 year old one and she will have more fun in the plane. It will be really hard for them to wait 12 hours to see you too. I will never ever drive to SF again. Pay the gass money and a little more to flight tickets but keep everyone happy

Have you considered flying them? I know it would be a short flight so it won't be so bad for your 2 year old. Then maybe her brother could bring the car on another day?
Really, I think she would be fine as long as she has a reliable vehicle, a cell phone, lots of water, and common sense. But to be on the safe side, she should speak to her OB. I hope this helps!
