NO... MAN can develop better and cheaper technology before going back to space again... Perhaps investing on children's education is way worthy... imagine if a child managed to create the right magnet that could negate earth's magnetic field and be able to levitate.... now man can freely ravage the infinite universe...

Yes!
First - we're not pumping money into space - all that money is spent in the economy, and adds to the GDP. Most is tax dollars, so there is a bit of reallocation going on, but in general, we get our money's worth from the space program. There are a litany of inventions that have roots back to the space program - velcro, personal computers, satellite TV, cell phones, etc. that probably would not exist without the push for innovation the space program started.
Second - we will either crowd out the planet, or begin moving into space - manufacturing, materials, energy, etc. all could be moved off-planet making our world more benign ecologically. It takes large scale funding to prepare for that leap, and is a very long term investment in our future - not to mention the opportunity to perhaps avert a large scale asteroid strike, and help the world avoid the fate of the dinosaurs.

I think that it is very important for us that we know everything possible about where we are located in the universe and aknowladge the factors that make possible what currently exists and happens. We might be able to discover a possible threath to our existance that with our inteligence we could be able to avoid or change so then we can exist longer.
Many other reazons exist related with our current life style, like comminications for example.

YES. NASA is one of the best investments we can make in our economy, in our education, and in our future. And remember, it has the smallest budget of ANY gov't agency. You should be asking if we should be spending all this money on the war before asking if we should shut down a fantastic agency with about .001% of the war budget at it's disposal.

Yes. The benifits are not all that obivious, but they are there.
Example:
NASA needed smaller, lighter computers, so they had them designed and built, and becuase of that, you have your computer in front of you. That impact alone has created jobs and broughts no telling how much money into the economy.

Yes. It defines what makes us human. Using the same money for all of the worlds other problems will not solve them.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think that nearly enough is spent on space. NASA should receive 10X the amount of money it gets each year.
