Hello,

(ANS) An interesting question, OK! for me I think I would want to travel forwards in time. Why? because if you take into consideration the times we now live in, given that we already know a great deal about the earths past, in terms of evolution and that we already know a good deal about early man's exsistence. That we already know about how many cultures & societies developed or why they disappeared.

**The main reason I would want to travel forwards in time would be see if or how humans continued to evolve. Indeed to find out if we survived at all, to see if climate change really did affect humans and to see if we managed to deal with it?

** Would like to see if we developed more sophisticated way's of travelling across space, other than using the current technologies.

**To see if conflict is only a human (interspecies) trait?

**To find out if we did ever finally make contact with another race or highly intelligent species on another planet else where in the universe?

The past. It could be hazardous to go into the future....what if the earth had been destroyed or poisoned by a meteor, nuclear war, etc. Besides that, it would be too tempting to try to find out when and why I had died, what became of my children and grandchildren. It would be hard to live with knowing the exact date and reason for your own death.
The past would be fun, bascially there would be no surprises and I love vintage/antique things. I'm not sure what era I would choose, probably the 50's or 60's, a time of peace in the country. Plus, there is a thing or two I would like to change, and I don't think the consequences of my action would be any worse than the reality of today.

if I had to use the time machine.. then Id want to go back in time... probably to the late 1800's or early 1900's. Id want to take an encyclopedia with say horse racing results so I could be financially secure.

As to where.. don't know.. possibly the US, mebbe Aus, possibly the UK if it was late 1800's.. say 1870ish. I wouldnt want to meddle with the past and try to stop actions or correct previous wrongs.

I wouldn't want to go into the future, as attractive as it initially sounds. there are too many imponderables.. not least of which how do you know where to land, how do you know how you will be treated.. the pasts has been.. the furute may end tomorrow......

Id want to avoid the periods of war.. I don't like seeing blood especially my own.

To the past, to hundreds and even thousands years ago. No matter how far away i can go in the past i can still relate with something, that's why past is a vivid, warm and sincere place. But the future is unknown and cold. It's worth perceiving when its time comes and not now..

I would go to the past if I could keep the knowledge that I have now. Between wars and global warming who knows if there is going to be a future that we would be happy with.

Now. Right now is where I want to be. The spirit of the moment means more than past or future
