When you're home, open all the doors and windows to allow the air to circulate. Smells seep into everything, so the more air circulating, the sooner the smell will leave.
You can try putting a pan filled with water, with apples, cinnamon, or even vanilla essense added to it, to simmer on the stove.... to fragrance the room.
It smells like you've been baking something yummy :o)
Or put 1/2 a cup of vinegar in a bowl and leave it sitting out. Replace it every day - it will absorb odors, so all you have to do is pour it down the drain when you're done.
Baking soda sprinkled on the carpet and then vacuumed up will get the smells out as well. Just make sure you dispose of the smelly vacuum cleaner bag, ot the smell will seep out.
I work as a family daycarer working from home, and always have sick-up smells, dirty diaper odors etc going on..... and my house always smells fresh and clean, just by using these simple tips.
I hope this helps.....

The key is to open the windows! It sounds like you have a condensation problem which is causing the odour. Wet laundry will be the main suspect. If you keep your flat sealed with no windows open this is bound to happen. And TAKE THE RUBBISH OUT lol!
To get rid of the smell buy Febreeze spray from the supermarket, and spray this liberally on the carpets, curtains, sofa etc - this is a spray that is designed specifically for a situation like yours. This will work, but your problem will reoccur very quickly without proper ventilation to your home.
Good luck!

well if there is no fresh air coming in then things do start to smell stuffy , If you can´t take the trash out then make sure you tie the back so the smell of waste is sealed, also you can buy nice perfumed bin liner´s , perfumed candles help , shake a vac for your carpet or something similar . I think heaven if you open your kitchen widow for 10 min´s before going to work in the morning this will help

There are actually a couple of things you can do-first go to Sam's Club and get a cleaner called Odo Ban. It is a clean fresh smelling cleaner, and really does get rid of nasty odors. I also use a candle warmer in the winter months with a fresh clean smelling candle-and carpet fresh will also do a job, but this will only temporarily get rid of odors. The Odo Ban is the best thing.

your house is begging, pleading and groaning for some fresh air. all these spray stuff e.t.c. is just going to be another smell on top of the ones you already have.even if you can only manage 10 Min's a day , get them there windows open, all at the same time, so you get a nice breeze blowing thru, if its a nice strong wind it might just blow all that stinky rubbish out as well

Carpet is the number one problem! It probably needs a good cleaning. If your house is small, a few bucks to have the guy come in and steam them is an excellent investment.

Air out when possible. Get some of those plug-ins(that uses oil). Plug them in the outlets in every room(use the same scent for all), I use them and when we are out then come inside, it smells so good.
