Yesterday at my job, (Manager of a maternity shop) a customer fainted. Boy, I was no help, when she fell, Like a dumb blone I am,I promptly fainted beside her.My 16 year old employee revived us both. I feel so stupid for this. Was my reaction normal? If so why do I feel so stupid? Any answers positive or negitive welcome.

Your reaction was quite normal, funny yes, but normal. A lot of people tend to become overwhelmed at incidences that have never happened to them before. I think anyone would feel silly if they passed out because of another person fainting. I assure you, you are not the only one who has passed out when seeing someone else do it.

Try this one. A similar thing happened to me and a friend. She was pregnant at the time,and she fainted while we were shopping.The two store clerks promptly fainted too.I was the only one in the store standing. I get my cell ,dialed 9-1-1 and said I need 3 ambulances,at ------------- 3 people just fainted. Weird but true.

don't be so tough on yourself! your fainting was "nothing" you could have done anything about. You can actually have fun w/ this story...we hear about husbands feeling phantom nausea when their wife is pregnant. As a maternity store manager, you are so in tune with your pregnant customers that you feel their symptoms too.

Not really sure that was normal but if you are pregnant guess we have different shock reactions maybe it was that. Don't worry to much just be grateful it was in the shop behind closed doors.

Emotions and feelings, you can't control, are not stupid. You felt sorrow and fear simultaneously. In this situation it was normal to faint. Stupidity has nothing to do with that.

That is hilarious! I can't believe you fainted too! That's like soemthing you wuld expect to see on TV. I guess your nerves got the best of you! You made me laugh today :)

This is normal, don't feel dumb, I don' know how I would react either. Just be glad neither of you got hurt when you fell and that your co-worker knew what to do.

Don't feel bad.Be happy it was not in a large crowd, and that 16 year old kept her wits about her. Buy her lunch as a thank you.
