Lots of things could be at work here. Her delivery date could have been miscalculated by a week or two; she could simply be a woman who carries a little longer than average. Forty weeks is just that - an average - and various women carry a little more or a little less. First-time moms are often a little late, as well.
When she passes the mucous plug, that's a good sign that things are at least starting to happen; some women also go through a sudden burst of "nesting" - wanting to clean everything and make everything ready - shortly before going into labor. There aren't really a lot of signs that something is happening until it, well, HAPPENS.

It is going to happen soon now, in a matter of days. Usually, it doesn't start suddenly. It starts very, very gradually, and can last for over 24 hours. A week or so before it starts, she will feel like the muscles around her stomach are stretching (like in a good stretch exercise) from time to time. It isn't painful, but that the sign that the labour will start in a few days.

The "normal" gestational period of a full term pregnancy is 32 to 42 weeks. Labor can start anytime during those 10 weeks.

she will see the discharge which is little red, she will feel uneasy and have mild pain that is what labour pain is..
i would suggest you to take her for a check up.. as sometimes you dont get the labour pain.. but the doctor gives the artifical pain for delivery.. check out

Congratulations :)
First babies are almost always late, so relax.
The whole mucous plug thing is true, and so is the bloody show, and broken waters are hard to miss...
Bhe first sign is usually loose stools or diarrhea. Often it follows a weird burst of compulsive housecleaning.

It could just start out of nowhere. You could take her to the hospital and they will induce labor. Have fun man
