Hi. We're trying to rid our attic of a mouse. Has anyone used one of the ultrasonic pest deterents? Do they work? Also, are there any that are battery powered, as we have no sockets in our attic? Thanks.

Yes they make a battery powered one. I think I saw one in Target in their pest control department. I have tried the ultrasonic devices and I don't think they work. They seem to do ok if you have a clear unobstructed room. But if you have anything stored in your attic, those objects can cause the soundwaves to bounce off them and create eddies that the rodents hang out in. I have found that glue traps work better. you just need to keep checking them and dispose of the trap when it captures one of the wiley beasts. I don't like poisons as they are dangerous to children and pets. Place the traps along walls since rodents prefer to travel there. Also check and see if you have any food stores up there, like grains or dog food. There is probably something up there to attract the beasts to your attic. Good Luck!

Yes, and they don't work, I'm afraid a mouse trap is the only option, you can get humane ones, I found that chocolate is the best for tempting them in. If you do use a humane one check it regularly or else the mouse will eat its way through the plastic!

Yes I have used them well we still do they are plugged in all the time they also keep spiders out of the house.

The only one I could find for battery operated is this one.

No, but I know a fine way, using a special adhesive, it is specially made for catching mice, you can easily find it in market and required instructions are stated on the adhesive tube.
