Hi All,

Recently my Renault Espace Helios (1993) won't start.

She had a few dodgy starts recently which happened when I turned the ignition key - my car tried to start but then just cut out. After a couple of attempts (and applying the accelerator pedal) she started.

Since then she has stopped and refuses to start - when I turn the ignitiion key she is completely silent.

I have tried charging my battery overnight, but this didn't work (I don't think that it is the battery as all lights, wipers, heater, locking system ect. are still working. Also the battery charger's green LED light indicated that my battery is fine).

I have also checked my spark plugs, and they are all clean and in good condition.

I have no idea what it could be, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

OK, this is a little like "how long is a piece of string?".

You say the battery is charged. Is there any sounds from the engine area when you turn the key in the ignition? If you hear a slight click (or get someone else to listen from outside maybe) the click is the solenoid. If there is no sound at all, then either the solenoid is playing up as that actuates the starter motor. So basically, from what you mentioned, if your battery is fine then it looks like your starter motor or solenoid is faulty.

ok is the battery 2-3 yrs old you may need a new one as its loosing its charge, being that you checked the sparks,it could be the alternator,or starter motor,a trip to the mechanics i think

Replace your starter motor solenoid. It is already more than 10 years worth the replacement.

1st ; When you tern the key on at self stater position ,Engine move fast or slow. If it move slow then see the starter motor, carbons.if move fast then see that is there power in the spark plugs.if not see the C.B.point If yes then see the fuel .
