The nc system I am referring to is...Alamance-Burlington in Burlington, NC.

I don't know about your state specifically. Districts have their own guidelines. But I've taught in two different states and have friends that teach in two others and all of our contracts are renewed "or not" by Mid-April. I would suspect that yours would be similar. But why don't you just ask a tenured teacher in the district? I'm sure they'd know.

North Carolina is a US State; yet, schools are operated on a local basis.

Thus, the deadlines for renewing North Carolina teacher contracts is a local issue. One would need to state what local school district they work in to determine when the teacher contracts will or won't be renewed.
