What do they do to foods to keep them fresh so long in a can? Is it safe?

It is a type of pressure sealing, and yes it is safe. People have been eating canned food for decades. I can food at home using jars...it's also safe, if done by someone who knows how.

If you ever saw anyone do it with out it rotting or what ever then it could be safe...
