I only know what women tell me. The virility of athletic looking handsome men is sexually exciting to women. The idea of being admired by them is gratifying. Its sexual. It can get vain.
For myself, I need an attractive female to validate my feelings of 'being able to make it' in this world... to know I can compete and succeed. Its sexual. It can get conceited.

Sure we like a man to look attractive, as well as a man that looks after him self (shaves, dresses nicely).
But most of all we LOVE a man that can make us laugh. Sense of humour goes all the way in a person it shines their personality.
