not in a thousand years...the last thing that a chinese would ever think is to be an accomplice of the japanese, after all the memories of the war? no way, besides, their PM has denied attrocities the japs did on WWII (sex slavery) saying no evidence could proved the claim...lol, there are still thousands of these women in the philippines, korea and taiwan. how come it's so easy for them to say that? it doesn't help but just intensify the hatred the eastern region has towards japan. taiwan can't be taken by diplomacy, perhaps by a war...but this would mean a war not only between the chinese mainland and the taiwanese but technically the US is involved, US being the protector of the tiny island. the last thing that would happen in east asia is a unified region...i felt US won't support this idea. if china is big enough for the US, how much more a unified neighborhood? right now uncle sam has a very good policy, and they want it to stay that way.

to be like EU? eu members has given up their sovereignties, do you think that a proud country like japan, south korea will ever do that? it'ss too much cost in return for what? believe me they're hardcore.

Nationalism is way too strong all of those places for that to happen anytime soon unless China invades them all and takes them over. However, that would put them in direct confrontation with the U.S. and they want access to our markets more than they want more land. Any peaceable merger would also be complicated by the fact that Japan and the Koreas in particular still share a awful lot of bad blood over WWII and even earlier conflicts and Taiwan is violently opposed to merging with Communist China (Taiwan is a democratic society). Mainland government would have to change radically or American support for Taiwan would have to wane significantly for that to happen.

Sounds like an Orwell/Huxley vision of the future.

However, Korea and China shall never forgive Japan for atrocities suffered during WWII, let alone the rest of history.

Economically, Japan is one of the top rated countries.

Taiwan is protected by the U.S. from China invading it. However, it appears that the US may someday allow China to invade Taiwan...

Thus, I do not see the coalition forming in the near future.

China and Taiwan. By force or Diplomacy CHina will not let them go. Japan and SouthKorea will never and they know that if either merge with China, they would lose out to the sheer number of Chinese. Besides, the EU is falling apart and Even some of the British wants to seperate from England.

oh hell no

Japan tolerates China as far as I know, as both a business partner and a neighbour, I'm pretty sure they don't really care for each other. Relate it to how most people see their inlaws.
Taiwan is really pissed off with China, considering the whole "you're actually China and we're just letting you call yourselves Taiwan" and I have no reasoning on SKorea but I'm sure there is one

Its really interesting how you say Asian countries exist as one, with Europe and USA, when USA is part of NORTH America, which actually incorporates 3 countries... Just because Canada isn't that spoken about, doesn't mean we're not something to be named, and as well as Mexico.

There is a possibility, remote, that the Asian's could form a Europe like address, but never something where they would fall under one Contienental government. Japan does its things its way, with its culture, China does its things its way with its culture, Taiwan keeps trying to break off and be independant but has to kowtow to China eventually or risk getting invaded (for lack of a better term). South Korea, well again I don't really have much on them :D
