The place to go is "Isla Contoy" it's a reserve and has 152 different species. Awesome place

The wildlife is plentiful spider monkeys, iguanas, butterflys birds in abundance. Giant guinea pigs called Agoutis.

The usual wildlife for a hot-spot... though Playacar is a huge resort area in Playa del Carmen... There's a golf-field all around it...So... Don't expect to be in the wilderness... He-he

When I was there a few years back, ther were iguanas strolling round the place and the hotel where we stayed, Reef Club Playacar, was often visited by a monkey! Its a fantastic place!
