I recently got out of the military and I want to help people. I have a baby on the way and I want to give him what I never had. I have the GI Bill but it only covers my bachelors. Are there any good grants or loans to help a soon to be father achieve his education to become an anesthesiologist? I am not in this for the money, granted it is a perk but I just like to help people.

I never said the money isn't nice but I can make money at anything. Anesthesiologists do help people a lot. Just because they don't cut them open doesn't mean they don't have a big part in the surgery or delivery.

Mainly in it just to help people and not for the money and you choose anesthesiology? Ok. Let's just say that's not exactly convincing.

To be a doctor, you'll need your bachelors to go on to med school. Your major doesn't matter too much. Just take the prereq courses in order to qualify.

I wouldn't worry about money too much. Especially as an anesthesiologist, you'll make so much, student loans won't be a problem. They make $200K on the low end. Normal is about $300K/yr.
