dude speed isn't everything, & complexity isn't everything either, not even close. Just talent, pure talent, something Jimi had a lot of

but he was a composer, he wrote hundreds of songs. Some with lots of layers, like the Satr Spangled Banner studio version where he used only 27 guitar tracks in 2 minutes n 30 seconds

In 300 years there will be churches, temples, colleges, universities and institutions dedicated to him

It's a shame that he only had a total of 4 albums released. Not including his live tracks. But I honestly hope and pray that he never is forgotten.

And to the people who say that he isn't as innovative as Beethoven, Mozart, or Amodaus(sp): You're ignorant. What they did with the piano/whatever he did with the guitar. He could make a guitar cry or scream for that matter. I haven't heard any guitarist do what he's done. That's a fact.

No, because Jimmy Hendrix wasn't a composer like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart or Ludwig Von Beethoven so he won't be remembered in the year 2307.

better than you at guitar: There are plenty of guitarists who have better technique than Hendrix but where's their creativity???? Malsteem can play fast but has yet to make anything as creative and classic as Hendrix ever did. Another thing is that Hendrix played from his heart and soul. Listen to Machine Gun on Band Of Gypsies album and you'll see what I mean. Then again, if I have to explain it you'll probably never understand anyway.
Yes I believe Hendrix will be remembered 300 years from now as one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived. Whether you like him or not he changed the face of music forever.

Jimi Hendrix will be remembered for as long as people play the guitar!

Yes, if only because of Woodstock, a seminal event in the history of music. Remember, too, he was the first to smash his guitar. The rest were just imitators.

I don't know. If he had been born in Europe 300yrs ago, would we remember him now? Would he have jammed with Mozart?
