Hello, wanna to be a singer! I kinda know what you are talking about here. It really comes down to not knowing what to do to improve your voice. Just singing songs will not be enough for your improvement. Also 3 to 4 hours a day singing, is not really necessary. Check out this website. It might answer some of your questions.

u want 2 be a singer that's a nice thing.and secondly how do u know that your voice is not good that is why only ur telling to improve it,budy don't worry bout it .just to be a singer listen any song, casually.it is not necessary that u should listen the song for 3-4 hrs. or to take a teacher.only casually sing it out wherever u r whether it is bathroom ,ur own room,if ur free in ur classroom, college amongst ur friends wherever.don't take it heavily on yourself .singing is a nice thing,i also like singing that is why my parents also appreciate me,my frnz but i don't have any opportunity what 2 do? but i'm happy that i'm good in singing.to be good singer just make any song ur favourite like DON,dhoom2 english song &dhoom2 just take my life.they r enjoyable songs and r very rocking.u may find something good in it.or other option sit in front of ur computer listen the song also and do something interesting on ur computer also.
please don't worry about that boring songs.take ur singing as a fun.
best of luck!
keep laughing.

It would be best to find a singing teacher.
You can do more damage to your voice if you train it improperly.
A singing teacher will be able to show you the correct way, and help you improve.

When you decide to be serious about your dream, you will want to take voice and music lessons. Until then, keep your dream alive somehow. You must get professional training.

Sing a LOT, with and without music. It will exercise your voice. Then ask some honest people's opinion.

You don't have time for training? That's like saying I want to be a doctor but don't have time for medical school. Grow up!
