How do I get recognition?

I am a young rapper. I just finished my first cd and I am currently handing them out as promotion. I am getting a buzz in the town that I live in just by word of mouth and by people playing my cd and it being heard but its a slow process. What can I do to get more promotion and be heard outside my town and maybe across the state?

Identify the agencies that promote business like yours. Send them free samples, telling why u choose them for your help.
