I just politely tell them that I am not interested and tell them that I am hanging up. If they wake me up I just hang up no questions asked.

Yes, but there is one particular one that I absolutely could not believe. My first mistake was in listening to them for a while. When I told them I wasn't interested, they started harassing me, put a manager on the phone, just would not quit. I finally said, "I'm hanging up now" and did, and they actually called me back immediately! They called me three times that evening, even after I threatened to contact the FCC. They called me twice more the next day, and three more times after that! This was not a bill collection; they were attempting to have me purchase something from them. I've never before or since dealt with such pushy and rude people. I could hardly believe it. Now I almost immediately have intense feelings of anger whenever I receive one of these calls. I won't talk to them at all. I politely say "Sorry, I'm not interested" and I hang up. And I have a real problem doing business with a company once I learn they have these out-sourced call centers.

All the time! My unrelated housemate's surname is Stewart (male) and I'm female. I got a call yesterday saying 'Hello Mrs Stewart". I told him I was not Mrs Stewart and she was dead (although there never has been a Mrs Stewart). I do try not to be too rude - they're just doing a job, but it is annoying.
