The following teams are offically history in the west:
(teams - points)
St. Louis 74
Edmonton 69
Columbus 67
Los Angeles 66
Chicago 63
Phoenix 63
Colorado is not out yet and is chasing Calgary for the final playoff spot.
and in the east all the following teams are out:
Florida 76
Boston 74
Washington 65
Philadelphia 51
however, in the Eastern conference, the battle for the 8th and final playoff spot is still going on:
Tampa Bay 86
NY Rangers 85
Carolina 84
Montreal 84
NY Islanders 83
Toronto 82
Man I can't wait for the playoffs.

I couldn't WAIT for this question to come up. I had a lot of free time one day, and I made a drawing using the paint program. It represents all of the 30 teams, and the grim reaper ready to take out their souls. At the bottom is a cemetery with 29 gravestones and the Stanley cup. Fortunately I have kept the exact order of "deaths":
1. Philly
2. LA
3. Columbus
4. Chicago
5. Edmonton
6. Washington
Currrently, the Blues are expected to be the next team to "kick the bucket".

well mathematically speaking in the west:

Columbus, and Philly... even if all the other teams vanish from existance... they'll still find a way to screw it up.
