the only comparison between the RS4 and the rally rivals is the awd and 4 doors; beyond that, the RS4 is designed to battle with BMW and Mercedes on the German Autobahn. And while the strait line performance is comparible to the evo/STi, the RS4 is way too heavy to challenge the rally cars on a race course.

The rs4 is probably one of the best all around cars you can get. At around 70k I think it is way beyond the sti or evo. One thing you can bet on that is the refinement of the audi is so far beyond the jap rice rockets its funny. The jap cars look and rattle like a cheap shell over a fast engine. The engine helps those rattlesand will annoy even the pope. The rs4 with the luxuries it has is just to be drooled at. I just seen one in my audi dealer today and omg is this car a thing of beauty. Cant wait till my a3 s line is paid for I'm going broke for a rs4. The fit and finish of the rs4 is also second to none. CHeck one up close and im sure you see nothing compares.

Different price point--near luxury market for Audi. Audi is more of a velvet hammer. Both the Mits and the Subie are both very capable performers, but not in the luxury class.

well.. the RS4 sure win in long-distance race.. but not in winding road/street race.. YES both of them got 4WD, but japanese cars is a lot-lot more lighter in weight.. and with that power to weight ratio makes em lot quicker.. i'm not saying the RS4 slower,.. u'll be the judge..
