None, we weren't allowed to even enter the gym wearing shoes. Barefoot PE is the norm here in the Netherlands, and no, kids don't have much athlete's foot!

As far as I remember of gym class (some 10+ years ago) I perfered combat boots or sneakers depending on what I wore to school.
