I'm 22 years old and for the past year, I have noticed a lot of vaginal discharge. It's not very thick, just kind of wet. The color is whitish-clear and it doesn't smell. It's just uncomfortable to have this problem besides the fact that it is very embarrassing...it's gotten to the point where I have to where panty liners every day!! I'm getting really scared about this...there is nothing that i do out of the ordinary..the only thing that i could think of is..I've been on the pill for 5 years due to irregular periods. However, I was fine before and I'm not even sexually active. Please help...I need sincere answers. Thank you

Calm down, you can stop worring your body is simply doing its job. Discharge is caused by your body cleaning its self out. The amount and consistency is different for every women but an average healthy woman has alot of discharge even more so when you ovulate. As long as it doesn't 1.smell bad,2.look chunky like cottage cheese 3. itch and/or burn chances you are fine.I also wouldn't worry too much about wearing panty liners because they can help protect you against infections especially if you wear colored underwear. If you are really concerned than see your Dr. but with your symptoms and not being sexually active I'm pretty sure your fine.

It sounds normal - I think every girl has that at some point in their lives. You only need to start worrying when it changes colour e.g yellow or green, or starts smelling, because this could be a sign of an infection.
By the way, don't worry if it gets crusty because it's just making contact with the air - that's normal too.

well, it could be a viral wart on your cervix. they do produce a discharge. it tends to have the same appearance as a yeast infection, but sometimes it is flesh colored or brownish or yellowish. the only way to diagnose it is to go to a gynocologist who uses a special instrument, called a colposcope. not all of them used them. if you let it go, it will cause cancer. it is the HPV virus. so if your gyn. doesn't use one, call around and have it checked.

cervix dysplasia
The presence of HPV stimulated abnormal cells can impact the cervix, (dysplasia), the vagina (vaginosis) or the penis (penile wart). The term describes the presence of abnormal cells in the cervical canal that may cause the abnormal tissues development . The changes may be mild, moderate, and severe. This condition is caused by HPV; it is asymptomatic and doesn't cause health problems, but can be precancerous. The presence of HPV stimulated abnormal cells can impact the cervix, (dysplasia), the vagina (vaginosis) or the penis (penile wart).

Cervical cryosurgery or cryotherapy is a gynecological treatment that freezes a section of the cervix. Cryosurgery of the cervix is most often done to destroy abnormal cervical cells that show changes that may lead to cancer. These changes are called precancerous cells. Your gynecologist will probably use the term cervical dysplasia.

Being on the pill can cause a lot of discharge to occur because of the hormones in the medication (I have this myself) but I would recommend checking with your dr to find out for sure if it is that or something else that could be causing this.

usually by drinking lots of water tends to make you have lots of discharge, your discharge sound normal, another thing i don't think its everyday, you might keep a journal to see the difference, sometimes the body produces that kind of discharge when you are ovulating. worry only if your discharge is brownish green or foul smelling.

Have you seen a doctor? I learned that vaginal discharges are most commonly due to bacterial infection. I've heard of nothing that sound like yours, though. Please, see a doctor.
