I personally think we are, but many people in my family think we are not, but i asked them name one thing a black person CANT do that a white person CAN. They were stumped and said, we may and can do the same thing and have the same jobs, but white people get paid more for do the same exact things.

Of course they are. All people are equal though our cultures and ways of thinking even beliefs may be different the one thing that binds us all undoubtfully is the fact we are all human. A good take on this is take a villager in Laos who lives in a straw house is he any different from one who say lives in a forty room castle on a hilltop. NO the only difference is their lifestyles underneath we are very much the same in so we all have fears, desires, likes, dilikes, joys, sorrows, dreams, and dissapointments. Just because a person who lives in a very advanced place like Europe does not mean they are more valuable than the villager in Laos. Or take a person of whom's culture is highly sophisticated and both socialogicaly and technologicaly advanced. Does that mean they are supeirior to the person from a country where there is little advancement and lives in a state of anarchy? OF COURSE NOT, underneath the both are human beings. As for you're comment about pay inequality that is a result of several things first of which is racism, the second stereotyping.

I think they are worth as much, but not exactly the same, partticularly on a cultural level, whioch is far more important than race.

Wait...can I ask. Am I the only one who reads questions about race and wants to flip nto a wild racist tirade with a bunch of racial slurs?

Honestly there is no racism in america. I'm a dark immigrant, and there is no comparison. Where I came from the country was so divided by race the minority can't use certain roads, leave the village without permission, and can be shot dead with no repercussion. In AMerica, a black woman can be Secretary of State.

Everyone has the same opportunities in this country, I just think your family has that mind set that white people get paid more because they want to feel its not their fault they might not work as hard or have the same expertise. I think many black people live in poverty because they don't think they can do anything more then just live in poverty, they never set a goal to make more money or become better they just blame white people and keep living the way they do, and when they do try to change and become rich they are accused of "turning white" thats pretty f'd up.

Are you asking, do you think blacks and whites are equally capable of producing comparable results when assigned a task? YES! Maybe we want to think of our ethnic heritage as variety in the gene pool rather than good vs. evil. Our Secretary of State, Condolezza Rice, holds a PhD in Political Science and is currently one of the world's most powerful leaders. I'm not sure what state you live in, but that could have something to do with unequal pay for similar jobs.

Blacks CAN be equal but certainly not in America. Some blacks are "equal" but if you travelled the US you'd find that 90% of blacks are NOT living equal to the American standard of living. You can give whatever explaination you want, but they are NOT equal. They CAN be equal, but WILL that ever happen is another question you may not want to ask. People are and may always be simply racist and ignorant and this especially applies to Americans. AS long as blacks carry a basketball instead of a book, they will always be living substandard. THe stereotype is perpetuated by blacks and whites in the US.

Yes they are. In Islam everyone is equal. part of the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh):-

"All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim, which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not therefore, do injustice to yourselves."

Thats bullshit in todays world. If a black person goes to college and acts professional they should get the same pay as whites. A lot of black people subscribe to the "were victims" mentality. People need to let go of there racist beliefs and we need to unite as americans. I can not stand the whole hip-hop world myself. I think it limits a persons ability to grow mentally. And it makes you sound like an idiot when you talk with too much slang.

..although I think as a whole equality between the races have made progress I do still sometimes see through my friends and in laws that it is not always equal this can be in a small ways but still the fact remains...there will always be people out there who will treat another race different and sometimes this includes employers or the guy just stereo typing a certain race... ... I believe we are all equal and should be treated that way.. but I will be honest and although its messed up sometimes your race does play a part..

Black and white will never be equal.
Nor will short and tall, Fat and thin, my white doctor and my white janitor
Black guy 1 and black guy 2 are not equal.
Equal in whose eyes? My wife loves me not my brother, so does she think we are equal?
In the race of life nobody wants to be equal, they want to be first
Stop looking to see where the other guy is, you'll lose your place in line.
