Why do you think relationships are hard?

I never realized it was hard before. I'm in my first long-term relationship with my boyfriend of over 13 months and we plan on getting married someday.

I think the reason why relationships are hard is because we are all different... and each have our own different characteristics and ways in handling situations. If we all handled everything the exact same way and had the exact same personality, it would be really easy... boring, but easy.

Relationship are hard because it takes alot work and trust. We all (well most) have been through some that we thought was right for us and in the end it didn't work out. So when we start something new we always remember the past and that stops us in our tracks to be able to function properly. We don't want to make the same mistakes twice, but sometimes it happens. It just like riding a bike for the first time, we fall but we keep tying. One of these days we will get it right, but when?

Relationships are hard b/c you have to compromise. You need to be there for your partner when they are down in the dumps, and vice versa. What happens when you're both down? You should be able to lift each other from despair. What about if you have kids - you have to agree on how to discipline & teach them. What about where you will live, what about in-laws, what about money, what about friends? Those are major things you should agree about. Parents also need time away - a date night to reconnect. Can you see yourself with this person for the next 60 years? Great if you're already so similar! But sometimes those little differences become major annoyances! It takes a lot of work. Good luck to ya, hun!

love and relationship is not the enjoyment, if you think it a matter of enjoyment, perhaps you have taken it wronghly. Relationship gives responsibility you to others which you would have to honour. When you create some relations with any one it is the prime duty of the both to should honour the likes and dislikes of the each other. Any kind of ego will spoil the relations. So there is only one farmula of give the honour and love and take the same.

Relationships are hard because we do not love one another. Yes, we all have difference of opinion, but that is what makes relationships interesting. Listening is a virtue, not all have the patience to listen to others talk. We want to voice our opinions even if it is at the wrong time. So young lady 13 months of relationship is an eternity to you, my suggestion is get out and find someone that can listen to you and you listen to him. It is fun when both parties have time to voice their likes and dislikes.

It's really hard because both have different background and different lifestyle. As long as we are ready to love, share and tolerate, relationship would be much easier.

Sometimes it is hard because the other forgets your feeling and goes ahead with their own plans. Sometimes you have to sacrifice more than the other to make things work which can be really heartbreaking.
