It's look like a flexible memebrane. There are actually multiverses which are seperated from each other by same kind of membrane.

The latest and greatest is that the universe is open and infinite and thus has no edge.

It will die a painfully slow heat death many, many, MANY trillions of years from now, nothing but dilute, cold radiation and a handful of elementary particles separated by billions of light years; so far in the future all matter will have dissolved away, even black holes will dissolve.

In a universe that is finite and closed, it would be theoretically possible to go off in any direction and end up back where you started.

Theres no confirmed answer, most likely if you go in one direction through space, you'll end up where you came from. Thats why Einstein hypothesized that if you look far into space, you can see the back of your head.

My 5th grade science teacher said if he drove his car (with a full tank of gas, of course) from earth and kept on going he would eventually end up in some place "near" where he started. He could of told me that to shut me up though.

Better yet...What's outside of space? mindblowing
