You should tell the truth to them in a way that they will most likely understand without causing them any further stress.

Well not being funny but if you say your having a bad day their little minds might come up with ideas alot worse than what is really going on, they'll only worry, if you are still with the father then i suggest you talk to him about your concerns, even if he is the cause of your saddness, because you dont want to be telling your kids diffrent things from each other, that will make them confused and worry more, and may also influence them to take sides. I suggest you tell them what you think they know at least, so they think your being honest with them, dont make things seem rlly gloomy, just make things out to be a little less than they are, and if it is a problem between you and the father dont try to sway them to your side, they wont thank you for it. Obviously the childs age is important, if you think they are mature enough to know the full story then tell them, if not then tell them outright what they may have heared through hearing conversations and such.
i hope everything turns out ok, hope i've helped

Depends. Why are you crying? How old are they? Are you depressed if so seek help before it's to late. Are you being abused? If so find a way out there is a way all you have to do is call your local police station they will get you help. 911 may be able to help you. IF you are willing there is a way, but take your kids with you & make sure you will never want to return cause if any part of you wants to return you probably will & if you do you may not live through. We both know how charming they can be & how they can pretend for awhile & we both know it never last, they always go back to abusing you.

Tell them the truth of why you are crying, they might be young but in a way they will understand, children are quite resiliant and should not as most people think be wrapped up in cotton wool. My children know my feelings whether happy or sad and pick up on it as i do with theirs & that is a proper family bonding. We talk all the time what is making us happy or sad & the majority of the time it all gets sorted x Hope this answer sorts the question that is going through your mind.

My Biggest worry over this is that if your kids continue to see you cry for no apparent reason or explanation.
They could well think this is the normal way to act when upset.
As all Parents know it is hard enough to get kids to open up when they are upset
Talk to them or You Need to find a Friend or Relative to talk to.

Depends on what the truth is .If you feel unwell then tell them,If you think it will make them cry then maybe think again as that will only add fuel to your fire.
