Dravid is not a good motivator.
His body language don't encourage other players.

Their are many reason which prove that Sourav as a better captain then the Dravid.
1 He kept team unit.
2 make the team to fight till the last momment, in dravid caiptaincy team surrender before the fight begin.
3 He was aggressive captain look for win unlike Dravid for flexiblity.
4 He doesn't allow the coach interfier to much.
5 Most importantly he make team learn to win in abroad

It is amazing that some body still favouring Dravid as Captain. Dravid is not only the "Bad" captain he is the "worst" captain India ever known. Dravid is a flopped captain without having capacity to lead the team like "Team India". It is high time to replace Dravid immediately for the sake of Indian cricket.

I think 'luck' plays the major role in between these two guys...Sourav was more luckier than Dravid...He took India to the finals in worldcup 2003 & Dravid hasn't done that...Thats the difference

I myself do not know the reason why Saurav Ganguly is being called as best Captain as compared to Dravid, which according to me is totally unfair as Dravid has not yet captained even 50% of the matches captained by Ganguly and as such any comparison between them will be quite unfair till both of them have captained equal number of matches.

its sourav ... obvioulsy he is the man who build and got team to work as unit during his era of captaincy and also at that period the team tasted the overseas wins at almost all tours ....
He with his efforts built the team who beated the world champions and stopped theirs wining streaks in TEST as well...
also under his captaincy team even reached finals of last world cup....
And now if u say about dravid he got ready made elite member team still he cudnt manage india team to get in super8... secondly he is very soft .. and lacks aggression like sourav... 3rdly .... his decision really doesnt worksout many times....

Sourav's ability to win when it really matters has made him the best captain.
Statistically:
Sourav's win%- 52-54%
Rahul win%-55-57%
shows that they were nearly equal.
Another thing to notice was that while sourav has won many tournaments like Natwest Trophy against England and reaching the final of World Cup 2003 abroad in ODI's, Rahul has won only one of tournaments abroad. All his victories have come in india only like 6-1 vs Lanka, 6-1 vs England,2-1 vs Sri Lanka and 2-1 against Windies. Abroad Rahul has lost 4-1 against Windies, 4-0 in South Africa against South Africa, lost champions trophy in INDIA itsef, lost Malasia or Kuala Lumpur Series. Sourav too had bad times losing 5-2 against New Zealand in their country, lost VB series in Australia. In tests Sourav has won test series against Australia and tied with Australia in Australia, England in England and many others. Rahul has won only against Windies in West Indies 2-1 and lost 2-1 in South Africa.
Mainly, The fact that under Sourav India reached finals 19 continous times including world cup final and Champions Trophy final puts him in the best of the best!

I don't know why?But in dravid's captaincy , we have created history in south africa and west indies. All blame dravid as a player as well as captain because he plays slow. People do not like his this quality. According to me ,he isthe best and most technical batsman in world. He plays according to situation.

atleast now, let us stop the statistics nonsense and look practically. as of stats, 3 indians have more than 10k runs with them. again for stats 2 indians have morethan 275 wickets. what is the use of stats here? let us throw all these players and form a young and talented team.

ganguly was made captain during crisis
india was facing match fixing charges
many key players were involved
masses showed dislike
but he created a new indian team
united it
he commanded respect
no doubt he was chosen da best captain inspite of da fact dat oz were da no 1 team
dravid got a team already made
and for his stats, india played many matches in da subcontinent under him

its not the stats which decide that, there are many other things that count, and sourav had it, im not saying dravid lacks it, but he's bit having bit less
