Listen to bands like "the dixie dregs" they frequently change time signatures. Terrio Bozzio when he played with Frank Zappa had a song called "the black page" it is an insane lesson in using all four limbs in diff. time sigs.

you should try bill powelson's school of drums...it's what i used when i was first learning drums. he's got audio files on there so you can hear songs that are in different time signatures, and you can hear different beats and stuff. there's a paid section, but there's also a free section that lets you access a lot of stuff.

listen to some Tool and Dream Theater, plus, if u're okay with heavy music, try Meshuggah

according to nature 4/4 is the only "odd meter"....we're just used to that thanks to pop music lol....listen to your heartbeat or the ocean waves....now for technique...here are some interesting sites:
