Been is the past participle of Be? Got is the past participle of get. Do you get shot or be shot from yourself?

Not recently. The voices in my head told me to stop because I was going to kill one of them if I didn't.

"Have you ever BEEN shot in the face with a nail gun"

No.

Did you want to know more, or are you just compileing a list of people that have had nails fired into their faces?

Why am I correcting grammar of such odd and pointless questions?

And yes, be is the correct form. Got, or get would work if you were saying something such as, "Did you ever get a nail fired into your face by a nail gun?" it works that way because you get the nail in the face, nail is a noun. Shot is not a noun, but a verb. You can not receive a verb, so you can't "get" it.

You can be shot (by yourself or someone else), so past would be either you were shot or have been shot.
