my friend has a BA in sociology from UT at Austin..... and she's jobless.......she's had one job since she graduated which was almost a year ago, and it was a financial aid advisor job...... so I was wondering if there are any other degrees that could possibly hold more luck at getting this type of job?

In Texas, the minimum requirement is a bachelors degree in a human services field or any bachelors degree with experience. The preferred degrees are social work or psychology. A sociology degree should get an interview though. Each posting is for a specific job so your friend needs to keep applying for every position. It would help if she had some experience working with children or families. She should go and volunteer at CASA or a shelter so she can put that on her application. It will help........

there is a few you can choose, but I think child psycology is a good one. sociology was my favorite subject though, and i believe that would work as well.
