Meaning: It's okay to be a little greedy, but do not get too greedy. It will be your undoing.

This is to describe a common situation when one person or one group gets all the benefits and other group or a person is blamed.

While on this topic let me say what Jim Kramer [finance show on CNBC] always says "Bulls make money, Bears make money but pigs get slaughtered" at this time on the show he plays the noise of pigs getting slaughtered.
