~Do you mean Ricky Skaggs or 3 Doors Down. Neither really qualify as rock. I think the original from the 60's by Goobleskeera is a classic, but, as you seem to say, people who claim to like rock really don't know what true rock is.

3 Doors Down! They rock! But they are "new" rock - I think of the classic rock of the 70s and 80s to be "real" rock music. Do you know who or what I'm talking about? These bands nowadays have a long way to go till they're in the same class as Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who, Aerosmith, Guns 'n' Roses...no comparison ...yet.

Here's a little irony; I actually do know the song, but don't love the band.
Maybe your question would be better phrased as "are there any real POP fans out there". That would go a long way towards targeting your real audience with this one.
