For crying, I would say the same thing the other people said. Its probably for cleaning his eyes, or alergy. |But for the inactiveness, try to bring some more fun into his world. Take him out somewhere, meet him to other bunnies, walk him, give him a lot of attencion, food, and the most important- go to the vet right now, It still CAN be something wrong with him. Better safe then sorry...

I use to have to rabbits for a short amount of time. I think it is pretty normal for their eyes to look a little watery and I know that they normally always look sad anyhow. If you really believe your rabbit is sad then I would just suggest playing with it a lot. Take it out of its cage and let it run around, feed it carrots, hay, thinly sliced celery, pet it. Just don't over do it or you may stress it out. Ok? If you notice any kind of changes in its behavior or activity such as not eating much or at all, or not drinking as much water as it normally does, or drinking a lot more than normal then you should probably take it to a vet. Also if you notice any stool changes I would suggest feeding it hay if it is not pooping much. If you have already been doing that take it in. Otherwise all I can say is rabbits just typically look like really sad animals especially if they just sit in their cage all day. If it is an indoor rabbit you could take it outside when it is warmer out, just make sure it has water and you are watching it so nothing harms it and it doesn't escape. hope this helps.

Your rabbit is not sad, it's sick. Take a look at the inside of his front legs, where his dewclaws are. If that area is wet, your rabbit has been sneezing and wiping the "snot" on his front legs. Rabbits can get upper respritory infections, and will be much like a human, with sneezing and runny eyes. You said you thought the advice you were given from the guy who sold rabbits was strange, I think your gut instinct is telling you that there is something wrong with your rabbit and you should go with it, and get your rabbit medical attention. If I lived near you, I'd help you out since most vets don't know anything about rabbits and I usually end up giving them advice on rabbits. When you look for a vet, ask if they have rabbit experience, not just if they are willing to treat your rabbit. Lots of them are willing, but few know anything about them. Good luck.

Tearing is normal, unless it is excessive. If your rabbit is sneezing as well it could be pastuerella which he would need to see a vet and be medicated. The antibiotic is called " baytril" and needs to start on it right away. Rabbits can develope many intestional problems and even death if not treated. My baby lop had this at 6 weeks of age. He is fine now, and also a new daddy! Call your vet and have your rabbit checked.

Tears are normal symptoms not only in rabbits, but also in Dogs, Cows, Oxen etc.,It is only a secretion, to keep their eyes clean. But you have told, your Rabbit is inactive, some thing must be wrong. Do not take chances, seller may say anythng, take it to nearby Vet, and get clarified. Good luck. By mean what is his/her name ?

Tears for animals are produced to get rid of eye irriatants. One of my cats has this problem and the vet told me it was due to allergies. Animals get allergies and irritants just like we can. I know you think your rabbit is sad but more likely hes not feeling well. Try a vet not a salesperson.

Inactivity in a rabbit could be a result of illness and/or injury of some sort. How old is your rabbit, if he is older, he could just be slowing down. Consult a vet in your area for clarification.

Wild rabbits can die of loneliness, I would consider getting him a friend. They will become a bonded pair in no time.
