Are you talking about freshwater or salt water? In salt water with live rock, chances are these are a form of feather duster. They coat thick on the tank glass and objects in the tank. They are harmless.

If it is in fresh water, a type of Planaria. They are also harmless.

My exboyfriend had a tank full of ciclids that became full of these little worms. I noticed them one day when the water became stirred up. He told me it was something from something he had fed them. I thought it was freaky--they were moving on the inside of the glass just above the water in the tank. I started to wonder if they could come out and become a parasite on me! Eww. They were kind of clear, you could barely see them. I would clean your tank. But, I doubt if they can hurt your fish. I'd be willing to bet that they are feeding on the other trash in your tank.

these r nothin but Little fungi caused due to uncleaned habitat they r present in the air as well as the water itself and show up under suitable circumstances

First clean up Ur tank by removing the fishes, gravel, trees(if any)
wash the trees gravel and place in the sun for about 15 minutes
then put them back in the tank but before putting the fish back
a blue liquid known as fungus remover is available with any aquarist put a few drops of this liquid in the water
and about 15 min later put the fish back

you,ve been feeding your fish to much, take all your gravel, plastic plants, rocks etc etc out and put them in a bucket and cover them in boiling water(your normal plants should be OK).wash all the inside of your tank with warm soapy water and remember to rinse it all out .when you,ve put every thing back and introduced your fish again your tank should be nice and clear. don't feed your fish to much again or you will have to do it all again. Ive had this problem before and found out about the cure through books and experience.

Planaria. Basically harmless. Comes from overfeeding and undercleaning the tank.

It may be a mosquito larvae. But they are red in colours. In huge tanks they leave fishes, to get rid of these larvae. They are food for fishes. But in your case in is an Aquarium, this should be clean always, as you put only ornamental fishes. The worms, caused only due to delay in cleaning the tank, and from decayed materials like droppings from fishes. First clean your tank, put fresh fresh water. Get a suitable solution, from an aquarium shop. It will be blue in colour. put couple of drops to the tank, it will avoid fungus attack, to your pets. Please note ornamental fishes are very sensitive, unlike edible one.
