In a press conference regarding the passing of the recent bill that compels troops to leave after Sept. of next year, Bush accused the Dems of political theater while standing in front a bunch of strategically placed, in full regalia sad looking military personnel. I almost spit out my diet pepsi...how ironic was that? Here he is parading the troops around and accusing the Dems of political theater...lmao. Anyone else find that ironic too?

And then he acted disdainful about the pork in the bill...like that is a new concept for one, and secondly, he never had a problem with the astronomical amount of pork spending from 2000-06 which he just rubber stamped right on through. Does he even realize how ironic and hypocritical he is?

What are your opinions on his rhetoric and his uncanny ability to not realize the irony of his rhetoric?

Dina..pork is common to any spending bill, this is not a new concept...if you want to see some disgusting amounts of pork, you only need to look at the Repub. controlled congress, they more than quadrupled the amount of earmarks that the previous Dem. controlled congress passed.

It is almost laughable how slimy this hypocritcal has been. Actually.. we should all be outraged at how hypocritical they are. In my lifetime,, there has never been a president or adm this incompetent. They also have no integrity, the way they pass the blame to the Dems or any Repub who doesn't go along with them. From the Iraq Blunder, to outrageous spending, to all the lying and covering up, it has been one disaster after another. So,,yes hypocrisy has been the one stregnth of Bush and Cheney as well. Not to mention, incompetence on a consistent basis. A disgrace!!
ANd Right wing pundits Like Hannity and Limbaugh should be ashamed of themselves. Everyday,, they talk about so called Conservative principles and how the Liberals are ruining America, never mentioning that what Bush and his crew have done is probably far worse. Those two should quit and walk away. But they won't because, too many people support them by tuning in to their show. They have no shame at all!!

Dressing up and pretending to be Top Gun while using an aircraft carrier as a prop is political theater. And it's not pork if it's an oil subsidy or a windfall for the drug companies. Isn't it just what you would expect of those liberals in the House to pass a pork filled appropriation squandering taxpayer's money on frivolous training and equipment for the already pampered military. What's next, blowing taxpayer's money on plumbing at Walter Reid?

Are you talking about the non-binding resolution vote taken by congress? That political theater? The waste of time non-binding vote, which by the way, is not a passed bill, but just wishful thinking by members of congress. If they want to pass a real bill, then just do it, and get it over with. But they won't, because they are afraid of not getting re-elected. Sometimes you have to rubber stamp things the Democrats want, to help the needs of our troop's. George just got out his veto stamp. Just watch the veto's fly now.

Ironic, however, common in politics, its all a big play by both sides. Ignore the play, and stick with the issues. The democrats are just as guilty of participating. Only certain people have the intelligence to realize their own side is doing it also.

Thanks for pointing this out. I think the political theater remark is ironic and a preemptive attack. Or maybe a covert agent of the Daily Show is a Bush speechwriter.

Talk about ironic. This shows how seriously the Democrats take the war.

Here are some examples of what the Democrats consider 'urgent' needs that require 'prompt action: '
-- $25 million for payments to spinach producers
-- $120 million to the shrimp industry
-- $74 million for peanut storage
-- $5 million for shellfish, oyster and clam producers

"Spinach, shrimp, peanuts and shellfish? That's not a war funding bill, that's the salad bar at Denny's."

I found it amazing that the man could stand there and accuse the Democrats of doing what he's done all his Presidency.

I mean, is he a reincarnation of John Wilkes Booth or what?

George Bush is funny without even trying. He's a natural born clown. It's sad that all of his humor is wasted on his biggest fans who don't get the joke. Bush's humor is about the only thing I will miss when he gets his funny butt kicked out of office. Irony is what makes something funny.

That's just politics. Both sides do that and each pot calls the kettle black.

It's just the way they do business.

It is called "unintentional self-parody" and it is really quite funny.
