Feral means....Existing in a wild or untamed state.
Having returned to an untamed state from domestication.
Of or suggestive of a wild animal; savage like.

Over the centuries there have been children found in the wild who lived like animals. From what I have read, it is near impossible for a child to be totally intigrated back in to human ways. For instance a baby learns language in the first year and when that year is lost it isn't an easy thing to teach language after that point.

Check out the site below it is very interesting.

There has been a lot on the news lately about feral children - surf - try ABC CBS and NBC news web sites. There was one discussed the other day who was about 12 and they felt she had normal intelligence and could be trained. Pax - C.

It depends on how long the child has been isolated and how old they are. Often there are deeper seeded psychological problems due to abuse or isolation and these need to be treated with cognitive behavioural therapy. They also often need language therapy and to be taught how society expects them to react and behave.

Try looking at the story of genie, who is perhaps one of the most extreme and sad cases.
