i keep thinking that im hallucinating but i know im not. its like i see thoughts in my mind (like most people do) but i don't see them outside of my mind like a real hallucination. but they make me panic i know my thoughts in my head are not real but i get confused and worried about it.
ive seen one of the best psychologists in the industry he has diagnosed me with ocd and he said i have nothing to worry about. i am not hallucinating because i can tell the difference between reality and my head.
but the fact that my mind makes me panic makes me think im hallucinating is really scary.
any advice????

Just to make you feel better, a true schizophrenic HEARS, yes, really hears voices. Sometimes the voices tell him to do something, and at other times they deluge him with a berating litany of his sins and his faults. The voices are actually heard, like someone in the next room is talking to him. Sometimes there are more than one voice, and they may carry on conversations with each other. They may talk about him as though he weren't there, or they may scream obscenities at him simultaneously.

Most schizophrenics are also burdened with outrageous delusions, like the TV is talking directly to him or about him. They can also believe that they are some famous person. More disturbingly, there can be paranoid features in these delusions--the person feels he is in imminent physical danger and can become panicked and uncontrollable. You cannot reason with him concerning these delusions because he can't tell the difference between what is real and unreal. He feels that they are the absolute truth.

A schizophrenic experiences what is called flight of ideas. His mind races and jumps from one topic to another, none of which makes any sense to anyone but him. But he thinks that that these thoughts are some kind of profound revelation from God.

Luckily schizophrenia is treatable with antipsychotic medications, and some of the newer ones work better and have fewer side effects.

This is probably more than you wanted to know, but at least now you know that you're not schizophrenic. A true schizophrenic can't even string a complete sentence together, which you did very well.

You might at least ask about seeing a psychiatrist for medication for anxiety and panic. There are several that could help you. Some psychologists fear that if you go on medication, your symptoms will disappear, and you will discontinue treatment. Perhaps you will, but you have a right to the best treatment plan available. Good luck to you.

OCD means you have obbsessive thoughts and compulsive or impulsive actions in response to the obsessive thoughts. I know if feels like you are going crazy but it is part of the disorder. Its hard to deal with these symptoms. Did this psychologist at least refer you to a good psychiatrist because there are some good meds for ocd symptoms. Im sorry you're going through this. Try to refocus your thoughts on other things and remember its not real and you will and can get better. Good luck. By the way, you dont sound schizophrenic but maybe a bit anixiety or panic disordered.

I do not consider there's a regular guiding principle. Just that there are voices... good, you recognize what I imply. My uncle is a medical schizophrenic as good, however he hears voices down water pipes and voices with no trouble in his head inform him that he's the following messiah; he's additionally completely satisfied his whole marriage have been a rip-off and that there was once no marriage in any respect (I was once there while he received married, brain you) and that his "so-referred to as" spouse had slipped him medicinal drugs during it to maintain him considering he was once by and large disabled in order that she would coins in at the incapacity assessments... So I consider that the best way schizophrenia comes up in the ones folks identified, is dependent upon how they manage paranoid strategies. It is obviously utterly distinct from one man or woman to yet another. Obviously I don't have any notion myself given that I'm now not schizophrenic. I additionally do not think there was a lot evidence that you just would increase schizophrenia in later lifestyles because of strain, trauma or anger. There were stories toward schizophrenia and drug abuse and there may be evidence that cocaine and schizophrenia are attached. Also that hashish and schizophrenia are attached. But even right here, psychiatrists ask the query whether or not the drug explanations the ailment, or folks with a latent tendency for this ailment are attracted by means of the drug to floor their ailment. Experiments with mice does exhibit that drug abuse (cocaine or hashish) at an excessively younger age (earlier than 15 in our case) can rationale everlasting harm and does honestly rationale intellectual sicknesses like for instance schizophrenia. Anyone who makes use of those medicinal drugs after the age of 15 is proven to don't have any outcome from the drug. Hence the query; does the drug rationale the ailment or does the ailment rationale the drug?

Oh no dont fear your thoughts, all they are are thoughts. Ocd simply means you have obsessions which have become complusive. It sounds like you might also have some anxiety that should be addressed. Get yourself in school and keep busy and you will be surprised how you can get that ocd to work for you. I have had students with ocd, they are usually very smart, the ones with the high anxiety have difficulty with testing but I usually have them test in seperate rooms from other students so they dont have that kind of stress of othere people finishing test before them. Your not crazy and your not hallucinating. Please let me know how you are doing.

If you were schizophrenic you would not be aware that the things you are thinking are abnormal.. You would be very mentally ill and unable to function like a normal person.
It sounds more like you are having some anxiety problems, and OCD. Anxiety is causing you to worry and the OCD is causing you to repeat the thoughts over and over again in your head.
