I'm just curious because I haven't found any documented, I've had the shot and after the second round gained some weight pretty rapidly, it is the only thing that I can think of that could have triggered weight gain because my dietary and exercise regimines are the same as they have been for the past year.
I do not want to scare anyone away from the shot, I think its a great idea in theory, I just wished I would have done more research before my doctor offered "an opportunity to prevent cervical cancer" and I thought , "SURE! OK! Sounds Great!"

I was just looking up this medication at the company website under the information for patients. It said that side effects not listed could occur so what that tells me is that yes, it could be possible that this shot could cause weight gain. I didn't check the actual prescribing info but I would also check with your pharmacist to ask for the info sheet that is given to drs (which is a sheet that has more info than what is given to the patients) to see what else it says when it comes to side effects from this shot.

I can't take the shot due to health issues and the fact that I'm over the age of the group in which it was studied.
