It will ruin a friendship, but sounds like that is gone anyway, there is always small claims court. File a suit against them and see how fast the money comes in.

You better get the courage to be serious and ask for your money, althoug in this days people don't care. That happened with my husband and someone, it took him a year to pay to my husband, he always said he need it the money because he had a baby, well we had a baby too, and that's the money that my husband work for. He pay when he got the taxes back. Ask him again tell him how you feel, nicely. Good Luck.

Good question! I'm in that same boat so, I'll keep checking back for answers. I'd love to get my money back that was owed a long time ago... and I've long stopped helping those who can't seem to help themselves.

good question. my mom always told me never lend out money expecting to get it back. in other words, if you feel it will hurt you monetarily to loan the money, don't.
as far as getting the money back, there's always small claims court.

This is why banks ask for collateral and the Mafia breaks legs.
There is probably little you can do. Why not read Shakespeare's "Merchant of Venice" and be glad you don't have Shylock's problems in collecting?
