Oh, come on!!! You know what happens in the end...you got history books...but either way, I see you are a girl and since I am one too I can tell you that you will love it! I've seen it twice already and, honestly, I don't think I've ever watched a better movie in its category. But you have to keep in mind that:
- the movie is highly stylized and most of it is done on CGI,
- it is a clear fight of good against evil and you will clearly see who is bad,
- it full of almost completely naked buff men and you WILL get hot!!!
So, just take the movie for what it is...made for entertainment, meant to show Spartan (and with it Western) glory and dominance over, well, the Middle Easterners and it is very artistic and exaggerated. Basically, two hours of eye candy coupled with incredible scenery and nail-biting action. And by the time you come out you will be ready (a girl or not) to take on the first person you see on the street. In short...the movie is phenomenal!!!
And while it is all that, the historic facts and even some the dialogs are 90% historically correct!
It is a true work of modern art and I can't wait to see it again...and again...and again!!!

I think the art direction was actually ugly but I guess it's a matter of taste. the acting was surprisingly good for no major actors / actresses being in it. overall it was an ok movie in my mind, but I hate when British actors take you out of the movie with their overdramatic acting and background music. Also, could you make the guys a little tougher? I mean, this was ancient times, not the most civil of times. I doubt if the Spartans patted each other on the back and consoled each other alot!!!!! Don't look for absolute historical accuracy although it did an OK job of it. One cool thing about it is that the characters are made like a comic book, and theres plenty of supernatural stuff in the movie (Persians look like monsters, demons, etc.) and Xerxes looks pretty cool on his ginormous palanquin carried by slaves!!!!

BEST MAN MOVIE EVER MADE. If you really wanna score some points with a guy, take him to see this. Although most men have already seen it I guess. Seriously, it's a great movie with awesome visuals. I wanna be a Spartan!!!!

It's visually stunning. Fight scenes are really nicely choreographed and the fantasy element is very cool.

The visual effects are amazing! I liked it but, but beware: it's pretty gory and violent.
