the pink ribbon is in rememberance of Aerith who dies in Final Fantasy VII but whom you can still catch snippets of in AC. All of the main characters that can be included in your team in the original FFVII including vincent and yuffie both have them in FFVII AC.

Really? You know I never really noticed that? I thought they wore them because of the Jenovia virus, kind of like how everyone wears the Livestrong braclets.
